Debbie is a Licensed Conveyancer on our residential property team with expertise in all areas of Residential Conveyancing.

Debbie started as a conveyancing secretary in 1998 and has been acting for clients in her own right since 2001.  After attending evening classes at college, she qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in October 2009. Since then, Debbie has worked for two local firms in Hertfordshire before joining our Ware office at Peter Brown & Co in September 2021.

Debbie specialises in all areas of residential conveyancing, including sales and purchases for both freehold and leasehold properties, right to buy and remortgages.  She specialises in equity release/lifetime mortgages.

Outside of work Debbie enjoys long walks with her dog, travel and spending time with family and friends.

Sara is a solicitor and has been a Consultant with us since October 2013. She specialises in all aspects of Residential Property including lease extensions and leasehold enfranchisement. 

Since qualifying in 1986, she worked for some years as a company commercial solicitor before specialising in property work. She has worked as a solicitor continuously since qualification with only some short breaks after her children were born.

Sara has developed her own ‘bespoke’ style of service that minimises the stress that some clients experience when dealing with legal processes. That not only empowers clients but also results in a great number of returning ‘customers’.

Outside of work she enjoys cooking, creative arts, spending time with family and friends, volunteering in various community groups and watching TV lawyers in suits!

Paul is the Managing Partner at PB& Co. and a highly experienced Commercial Property Solicitor.
 
He has overall responsibility for the management of the practice.

He acts on a range of property transactional work such as high value sales and investment acquisitions, development sites, commercial leases (with significant experience in the Central London lettings market) and acting for lenders and borrowers, structuring often complex and high value finance transactions. 

Paul’s clients range from high net worth individuals, investors, entrepreneurs, lenders and Banks to restaurateurs and commercial/office tenants.

Outside the office, Paul is a long suffering Spurs season ticket holder and enjoys watching his 2 young kids playing football. He works to support a number of local charities when not walking his dog and escapes for occasional holidays – particularly cruises

Peter is the founding partner of the firm and is recognised in the industry as being a collegiate, no-nonsense dealmaker of the first order.

Peter has now largely stepped back from all day-to-day transactional work but remains a highly valued consultant in the commercial property team more often than not talking through and helping clients structure (and restructure) complex transactions.

Outside of work Peter is still the larger than life character that so many have grown to love endure over the years!

Robin is a commercial property solicitor with a specific focus on development and portfolio management transactions. Clients include land traders, registered providers, regional and national house builders and the largest ground rent portfolio in England.

Robin studied at King’s College London and the University of Law.

Outside of the office Robin’s interests include American motorcycles, 80’s toys, horology, street art, original book illustrations and vintage movie posters.

Cigdem qualified as a property solicitor in 2006 and operates in our residential property team. She brings tremendous expertise in all areas of residential property, including sales and purchases of flats and house, transfers of equity, re-mortgages and bridging finance. 

She has worked with a wide range of clients throughout her career, from nervous first-time buyers to experienced property investors and high net worth clients.

Outside the office, when not on duty as a taxi driver to her children, Cigdem especially enjoys travelling as well as spending time with friends and family.

John specialises in high value and more complex conveyancing matters.  His large case load includes several lenders helping to perfect their security, and companies with large property portfolios, helping to maximise their returns.

Clients greatly appreciate the responsive and fast service he provides. 

He is justifiably proud of having risen from trainee solicitor to Senior Partner in 20 short years, especially as he came late to the profession having previously worked for the House of Commons.  

Sarah is an experienced real estate solicitor with 13 years post qualification experience gained at City firms. Approachable, pragmatic and pro-active she has worked for a range of clients from start-ups to FTSE 100 companies, property investors and developers to HNW and UHNW individuals. She acts on a broad range of commercial property transactions including investment acquisitions, commercial leases, re-financing and re-structuring.

She tailors her advice to the business needs of each client and takes time to understand their sector. She also has extensive experience within the hotel and leisure industry acting for hoteliers, restaurateurs licencing and gaming clients.

Abi’s career began at an East Hertfordshire law firm in 2008 as a conveyancing secretary. She grew her experience in several firms and ended up as a paralegal. Deciding on a change of career in 2018, she worked with an estate agent for two years as a sales progressor.

She found it enlightening to see the process from another perspective and provide support to clients in a different capacity.  

Abi decided to return to her conveyancing career and joined us at Peter Brown & Co in March 2020.

Outside of work she enjoys reading (anything by Stephen King!) and seeing friends and family.

Grazia joined the firm in 2021 and completed her training contract here at Peter Brown & Co in the commercial property department. She has been involved in a variety of transactions including S5 notices, licenses to alter, assignments and Landlord & Tenant work.      

She studied Sociology at Kingston University and completed her GDL, LPC and Masters of Laws at BPP Law School. 

Outside of work she enjoys eating lots of chocolate and handing out homeless hampers in Central London each year.   

Sophie joined our busy residential team in February 2024 as a paralegal.    She has gained lots of experience working as a secretary since 2016

Outside of work Sophie enjoys spending time with family and socialising with friends, either going for long walks, shopping or brunching.

Mike has specialised in Private Client field for more years than he cares to remember and especially enjoys direct and personal interaction with clients.

In addition to Residential and Commercial Conveyancing, his specialty is in Probate, Wills and Powers of Attorney. 

Outside of work, Mike plays and follows sports, and is especially proud of his lifelong North London attachment. He admits to supporting Spurs when he is not following his first love – cricket – and is a member of the MCC. Somehow he also finds time for his Rotary club and has twice been President.

Andrew joined us as a Consultant in 2017, bringing expertise built from more than 30 years as Senior Partner in a West End Firm

As a specialist property lawyer of long standing, he has dealt with a wide variety of both residential and commercial property transactions. His particular expertise is dealing with commercial real estate acquisitions, sales, refinancing, development and landlord and tenant matters, and providing property support for corporate transactions.

He acts for a wide range of developers, investors, high-net-worth individuals and SMEs, as well as overseas investors and both lenders and borrowers of bridging and long term finance.

Andrew is widely known and respected in the property sector and is well connected as a result, which is often of great benefit to our clients.

Spencer Laymond is an accomplished solicitor specialising in company and commercial law.

He has over 20 years of experience (including having owned and merged his own regulated law firm) and has acted on hundreds of business acquisitions, joint ventures and commercial contracts, across a multitude of industries and situations.

He publishes an occasional newsletter known as the Business Law Legal Alert.

Outside the office, Spencer enjoys Sci-Fi, chess and cooking and every so often a bit of running.  However, at the weekends he can frequently found in and around one of London airport’s to fulfil his son’s obsession of becoming a pilot.

Nilam is an experienced Private Client Paralegal who recently joined Peter Brown & Co with the goal of building and expanding the firm’s Private Client department. She is passionate about meeting new people and is dedicated to fostering strong relationships with her clients, always going above and beyond to provide exceptional service.

Specialising in probate, will drafting, lasting powers of attorney, deputyship orders, estate administration and inheritance tax, Nilam brings a wealth of expertise to her role. She studied Law at Buckinghamshire New University and is currently on the SQE route to becoming a qualified solicitor.

Outside of work, Nilam enjoys anything related to being in nature, exploring new places, cooking and regularly attending reformer pilates.

Alan qualified in 2003, joined us in 2005 and is a Partner in our Residential Property team. His expertise spans a wide variety of transactions including the purchase and sale of flats and houses, transfers of equity, refinancing, grant of new leases and lease extensions. 

He particularly specialises in dealing with plot sales of new build or converted developments, acting for small and medium sized developers.

Alan acts for a variety of clients including companies with large property portfolios, several lenders, various developers, buy to let investors as well as first time buyers.

Outside of the office, he enjoys running, travelling when he can, and spending time with family. He also enjoys watching football but only when Spurs win!

Daniel is a partner at Peter Brown & Co, and specialises in all-areas of Residential Conveyancing. 

He has been involved in conveyancing since 2003 and he has successfully acted for many nervous first time buyers, experienced buy-to-let investors, and large property developers. He has completed a wide range of transactions, including sales, purchases, and re-finances. 

Daniel also provides advice on Equity Release/Lifetime Mortgage transactions. 

Outside of work, he enjoys reading, playing golf and trips to Cornwall with his family.

Serdar is an experienced commercial property partner.  He undertakes a broad range of work and specialises in residential development.

His clients include developers, registered providers, land traders, park owners, commercial investors, landlords and tenants and HNW families and individuals.

Serdar is fluent in French and Turkish.

In his spare time, Serdar enjoys reading, playing football, swimming, travelling and spending time with his young family.

Nadia is a partner on our residential property team with expertise in all areas of residential property, including lease extensions and re-mortgages.

She completed her degree in Law at The University of Hertfordshire and then worked at a North London firm for 14 years, rising through the ranks whilst studying. In 2014 she completed the Legal Practice course at College of Law in London before qualifying as a solicitor in 2016 and joined Peter Brown & Co in September 2018.

Outside work, she confesses to being taxi driver for her children and can often be found cheering her son on from the touchline at football matches.

Fran undertakes a wide range of commercial property work and is experienced in acting for both landlords and tenants of commercial property and acting for property developers, investors and lenders in the acquisition, financing and disposal of commercial property – including retail, industrial, offices and development sites.  

Building strong relationships with clients is something she prides herself on, and working hard to help them to achieve their objectives.

Outside the office Fran enjoys playing badminton, going to the cinema, cooking and eating good food, and being outdoors with family.

Richard is the firm’s oldest partner.  He deals with commercial and residential property transactions, and has been doing so ever since being admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales in 1984, as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 1985 (practising, but now lapsed) and as a member the State Bar of California in 1991 (non-practising).

Richard joined the firm in January 2005 after twenty years or so with City/Central London firms.

Outside (and whenever possible inside) the office, Richard enjoys talking about politics, sport and local history.  His family would add that he enjoys jogging and browsing in charity shops.

Marianne qualified as a Solicitor in 2016, specialising in both Residential and Commercial Property, with her area of expertise in Residential Property. She has extensive experience in all aspects of Residential Property, including high-value transactions, re-mortgages, and transfers of equity.

She earned her Law degree from Hertfordshire University and completed her LPC at BPP Law School.

In her free time, Marianne enjoys socialising with friends and staying active (when her schedule allows), though much of her time is dedicated to activities with her two young boys.

Mike is our longest qualified Solicitor and specialises in Commercial Property, certain Company and Commercial work, Landlord and Tenant and some Commercial Litigation.

For many years he was a Partner in Earle & Waller Solicitors, a practice which has recently been incorporated into Peter Brown & Co.

Mike was born and grew up in the East End of London but for the last 30 years has resided in Barnet. Unsurprisingly, he is a lifelong West Ham supporter but also supports Barnet and is a regular at their home games.

Although a keen bridge player, he loves the great outdoors and hill walking especially. He was also a keen cyclist until a recent accident put the brakes on that!

Vicky brought over 30 years’ experience in legal support services in the City when she joined the firm in 2016.

Primarily responsible for the day to day management of the practice, she also works closely with the partners in planning and implementing new initiatives, helping to turn the firm’s ambitions into reality.

When not working, Vicky likes to work out in the gym and take her dog for long walks in Epping Forest.
